Drone permit
Drones/Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)
Do you wish to fly a drone in the Hemavan Tärnaby area?
Hemavan Tärnaby Airport wants to inform the public in particular about what applies to the use of drones and that not applying for a permit can be a violation of the Aviation Act and can result in a fine or imprisonment. The basis is of course that we want to ensure a high level of flight safety and that we do not want to be involved in the consequences that a collision between drones and aircraft can entail. In order to facilitate the development of drones and at the same time maintain a high level of safety as traffic increases, new drone regulations will apply from 1 July 2020. The rules will be common throughout the EU.
Permit required for drone flight UP to 5KM from Hemavan Tärnaby Airport
Flying with drones in the HEMAVAN TIZ/RMZ traffic information zone may only take place after permission has been obtained from the air traffic control service.
Drone flight more than 5KM from Hemavan Tärnaby Airport
At altitudes less than 50 m above the ground and more than 5 km from airport runways, two-way radio communication with the tower is not required for drones weighing up to 7 kg and speeds up to 90 km/h.
